Mt. Ara is located in the Kotayk and Aragatzotn Regions of Armenia, 33 km to the North. The name of the mountain comes from the Armenian legendary King Ara the Beautiful. Watching the tops of the mountain one can distinguish the face of the lying king. According to legend, Ara the Beautiful had struggled against the powerful Assyrian queen, Shamiram. Compared with other mountains, Mt Ara stands apart from the other mountains and has its unique and natural habitat.

Astvatznkal church is in Aragatzotn region of Armenia, on the bank of Qasakh river. It is a Medieval monastery complex built in V c. There are 2 main churches: Basilica church and the big Kathoghike church. Acc. to Kathoghike’s inside inscription, the patron of the construction was Lord of Vachutyan Qurd with his wife Khorishan. There are grave stones and crosstones in the yard of the monastery with a ruined wall round it.

Rya-taza and Alagyaz Ezidis villages
The villages are located in one of the most spectacular and beautiful regions of Armenia, in Aragatzotn region. It is the most inhabited place in the region. The main inhabitants of the villages are Kurds and Yezidis.

The Stepanavan Dendropark is an arboretum located near the village of Gyulagarak located in the Province of Lori. It was established in 1933 by the Polish engineer-forester Edmon Leonovich. The arboretum is 35 ha in total of which 17.5 ha consists of natural forests and 15 ha make up ornamental trees. This collection expands along the newly-constructed footpaths and vistas which extend into the natural forest. The Stepanavan Dendropark consists of a deciduous forest and ornamental plants with avenues of Lime (Tilia cordata), and wild sourced specimens of Juglans, Malus, Populus and Pyrus.As part of an international program, most specimens are acquired from other botanical gardens. Now,there are more than 500 known species. The arboretum is a perfect place for public excursions and botanical or zoological tours. Admission is free and open to the public.

The Castle of Lori-Berd
Situated 4.5 KM from Stepanavan, these ruins of the 10th Century Lori Castle is perched on the junctions of the Dzoraget and Urut Gorges.
 It occupies an area of 33 ha. During the second half of the XI century it was at the height of its development when it became the capital of Tashir-Dzoraget Kingdom. The church and two royal baths have been preserved in the castle of Lori-Berd.

Near the castle, at the bottom of the gorge one can see a medieval bridge across The Urut River. On the left side of the bridge there are several crosstones and stone carvings.
